Basketball Injuries and Conditions
As the Official Hospital of the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets, as well as many other professional sports organizations in the New York area, HSS is well equipped to handle both surgical and nonsurgical sports injuries. For athletes, the first line of defense should be injury prevention, which includes basketball exercises and drills, along with using the proper equipment to support the ankles and feet while playing. Common injuries
Basketball players have one of the highest injury rates out of all the contact sports. While there are fewer collisions like in football or hockey, the agility and movement required in the game can lead to lower body injuries in the knee, ankle and foot.
