For Patients
Neurologists at HSS are board certified with subspecialty training in neurophysiology, neuromuscular disease, and movement disorders. All physicians have appointments in the Department of Neurology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College. We provide a weekly Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and ALS Association (ALSA) sponsored clinic providing multidisciplinary care for patients with neuromuscular disorders.
Our neurophysiology laboratory provides inpatient and outpatient EMG, EEG and Evoked Potential testing to HSS patients as well as to patients referred by other physicians. We also have an extensive program devoted to monitoring of the spinal cord and nerves during surgery at HSS.

Hope through Discovery
The ultimate goal of HSS is to provide the best possible care and outcome for our patients. A full multidisciplinary team comes together from physician to speech therapy and nutrition. Molecular, genetic, and physiological therapies and treatments, along with research and clinical trials, provide hope and options for those with neurological disorders - especially those that still have no cure.

Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship
Our academic mission is to seek ways to advance our understanding of the cause and treatment of disorders of mobility through research and to educate new physicians in the discipline of treating patients with mobility disorders. We offer an ACGME accredited Fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine where fellows will receive extensive training in neuromuscular medicine centered in core competencies..
We are involved in several research projects involving ALS, peripheral nerve injury, peripheral neuropathy, diseases of muscle (such as glycogen storage disease) and, in conjunction with the Department of Rheumatology, inflammatory myopathies (such as inclusion body myositis, polymyositis, and muscular dystrophy). Our multi-disciplinary Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Clinic, held at the Weill Cornell campus, is also one of the few MDA/ALS designated research centers in the country caring for patients with ALS. Our MDA program also provides care for patients with all forms of muscular dystrophy (including FSH Dystrophy [FSHD], Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy [LGMD], Duchenne Dystrophy, Spinal Muscular Atrophy [SMA], and metabolic myopathies).
Why choose HSS? Our patients say it best.
